Muse connects to Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Workspace, but not YouTube. WoopSocial's connector lets your Muse agent upload and schedule YouTube videos and Shorts in plain language. No OAuth verification, no quota management, no code.

Muse Connects to Google. That Doesn't Include YouTube.

Muse's launch connectors include Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Workspace, so it's reasonable to assume YouTube comes along with them. It doesn't. Google account access and YouTube publishing access are different things, and the gap between them is exactly where most people trip.

Adding YouTube yourself is tougher than it looks, for one very particular platform reason. Youtube.upload is a very sensitive OAuth scope on the YouTube Data API, so Google insists on brand verification and a video demo before your app can publish for real, a four to six week process, and until you pass you are limited to 100 test users with refresh tokens that expire in 7 days.

Service accounts, the shortcut for most other Google APIs, is not an option for YouTube at all. Each channel needs its own OAuth consent and fresh token stored for you, so native multiple channel management means storing and managing multiple sets of creds. All calls count against a daily quota for your project which is measured in units (10,000 units for each project), and any operation can exhaust it and quietly block uploads for the rest of the day.

Google did actually relax this in December 2025, reducing the cost of an upload from roughly 1,600 units to around 100, so the default quota is closer to 100 uploads a day rather than 6 - handy to know because a lot of guides still refer to the old number. But the quota cap itself didn't go, the quota is just a little less likely to be the first thing you encounter. And a production upload isn't a single request either way, it's a three stage resumable protocol - initialize a session, upload in chunks, publish, not a simple POST. Our YouTube API Alternative guide covers the Data API side in full.

WoopSocial Is the YouTube Connector Muse Is Missing

One connection, and Muse uploads and schedules to YouTube - plus TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest and Bluesky.

The verification point matters most: WoopSocial is already a verified Google client, so you skip Google's OAuth verification entirely, no brand verification packet, no demo video, no multi-week review sitting between you and a real upload.

The Shorts point is a genuine differentiator, not a convenience one: YouTube's own native scheduling, the publishAt parameter, doesn't work for Shorts. WoopSocial's scheduling does - so Muse can queue a Short, something the native API simply can't do.

The compliance point: WoopSocial exposes YouTube's actual required fields directly - title, privacy status, category, tags, and the madeForKids COPPA declaration, so uploads come out complete and compliant, not half-configured.

Your Muse agent never holds YouTube credentials, either. It only ever holds your WoopSocial API key. WoopSocial handles the per-channel tokens, runs the resumable upload, and budgets the quota behind the scenes, none of that becomes your problem.

Connect Muse to YouTube in 3 Steps

Step 1: Get your WoopSocial API key

Free, about 70 seconds. Connect your YouTube channel inside the WoopSocial dashboard while you're there.

Step 2: Give Muse the link

One message: "Build a custom integration for WoopSocial using this MCP server: https://api.woopsocial.com/mcp?api_key=YOUR_WOOPSOCIAL_API_KEY. Use bearer token auth with this API key. Test it and save it as a skill." Muse handles the transport and auth questions itself, for a hosted MCP server the answers are usually HTTP and bearer token.

Step 3: Tell Muse to upload

"Upload this video to YouTube as unlisted with this title and description, and schedule the Short for Friday at 6pm." No Google Cloud project to stand up, no OAuth verification queue, no per-channel token juggling, no quota math, no code. Worth calling out separately if you run more than one channel - this is because YouTube requires its own OAuth consent per channel, so connecting several natively is a real burden. WoopSocial manages all of them behind the one API key. You can connect a second or third channel from the same dashboard and Muse can address any of them by name in the same conversation. And because Muse asks before publishing anything, you will see a confirmation before an upload actually goes live - nothing ships to a real channel without you seeing it first.

YouTube Uploads, in Plain Language

Once it's connected, this is genuinely how you'll talk to it:

  • "Upload this to YouTube with this title and description, set to public"
  • "Schedule this Short for Friday at 6pm"
  • "Upload this as unlisted so I can share the link privately"
  • "Tag this with these keywords and put it in the education category"
  • "Mark this as not made for kids"

Each of those maps to a real field the connector actually sends, title, privacy, category, tags, and the madeForKids declaration, not a wishlist of all the things that sound right. If a request doesn't map to something YouTube's API supports, Muse will say so rather than just pretending it happened.

One Connector, Every Platform Muse Is Missing

The same connector also gives Muse TikTok, LinkedIn, X, BlueSky and Pinterest, set up once. For short-form creators specifically, that means YouTube Shorts and TikTok come down to a single prompt instead of two separate uploads.

Pricing is flat and predictable: free to start, $19/month for Pro, scaling to $49 for Business and $799 for Max, with API and MCP access included on every tier, free included. WoopSocial maintains the integration and tracks Google's quota and API changes on your behalf, so when Google adjusts quota costs or upload requirements, that's WoopSocial's problem to track, not yours.

Give Your Muse Agent YouTube Uploading

You already have Muse. Closing the gap to YouTube is one message and a free API key, no verification queue, no quota math, no code.

FAQ

Can Muse upload to YouTube?

Not natively. Muse's launch connectors are for Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Workspace, but not YouTube. That is the role of a custom connector such as WoopSocial.

Muse connects to Gmail, why not YouTube?

Google account access and YouTube publishing access are separate permission systems. youtube.upload is a sensitive scope with its own verification process.

Can Muse schedule YouTube Shorts?

Yes, and this is one place WoopSocial does something YouTube's own API can't: the native publishAt parameter doesn't support scheduling Shorts. WoopSocial's scheduling does.

Do I need a Google Cloud project?

No. As WoopSocial is a verified Google client, you won't have to complete the process of Google's OAuth verification including the brand verification and demo video step.
