Do I need MCP or the agent skill?

MCP is the hosted server every client talks to. A skill or plugin is only the install path for a specific agent (for example Hermes config or the Cursor Directory plugin). You still end up connected to the same WoopSocial MCP tools.

What is the WoopSocial MCP server URL?

https://api.woopsocial.com/mcp Transport is Streamable HTTP. Sign in with OAuth. Nothing secret belongs in that link.

Does it need an API key?

Not for clients that support OAuth. Prefer OAuth sign-in. An API key in the MCP URL is a fallback only for agents that cannot open a browser. Create keys at app.woopsocial.com/api-access and treat them like a password.

Can it write captions or create images?

No. The API and MCP do not generate captions, images or video. Your agent writes the content. WoopSocial validates, uploads media, publishes and schedules.

How it works

Step 1

Add the server

Register https://api.woopsocial.com/mcp in your client (custom connector, CLI command, plugin or config file). Transport is Streamable HTTP.

Step 2

Sign in and approve access

Your client opens a browser page. Sign in or create a free account and approve access. Ask the user before approving. Never type their passwords into the chat.

Step 3

Ask your agent

For example: "List my connected social accounts". If that works, the tools are live.

Your agent asks before it publishes

Before publishing now, the agent should show you the text, media, accounts and time, and wait for a yes. While testing, schedule a time instead of publishing now.

Create a key at app.woopsocial.com/api-access only when OAuth is not possible. Keep keys out of prompts, logs and commits.

Which page do I need?

WoopSocial is a hosted MCP server that publishes and schedules posts on Facebook, Instagram (Business or Creator accounts), Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn and LinkedIn Pages, X, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube for your user.

1. Register the server. Endpoint: https://api.woopsocial.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP).

2. Sign in. Your client opens a browser page where the user signs in or creates a free account and approves access. Ask the user before approving. Never type their passwords or paste API keys into the chat.
3. Verify. List the user's connected social accounts. If the call fails, stop and tell the user what failed. If no accounts are connected, ask the user to connect one at app.woopsocial.com, then list again.
4. Validate. Call posts_validate with the full post for every target account. Fix each error at the JSON path it names. Do not publish until validation passes.
5. Confirm. Before publishing now, show the user the text, media, accounts and time, and wait for a yes. While testing, schedule a time instead of publishing now.
6. Media. Upload files through the upload-session tool. If an upload fails inside Claude.ai or ChatGPT, the user must allowlist *.cloudflarestorage.com.
7. Report. Tell the user which accounts, what was scheduled or published, when, and which validation errors you fixed.

Agents that cannot open a browser can use an API key from app.woopsocial.com/api-access. Treat it like a password: keep it out of prompts, logs and commits.
