Grok / Threads

Post to Threads with Grok

Grok writes sharp short-form posts. It can't publish them to Threads. WoopSocial's connector lets Grok post and schedule to Threads in plain language, and to seven more platforms from the same setup.

Grok Doesn't Connect to Threads

Threads is not on the connector shelf of Grok. The only social connector on the entire platform is X Ads, which is for ad campaigns, not posting. That holds true for every Meta platform - Facebook, Instagram and Threads are all absent.

It's worth being upfront about this - Threads API isn't the hard part. Meta's Threads API is really very straightforward, nothing like the testing required for some other platforms, no weeks-long audit process, and no screencasts to submit. The real challenge here is something else entirely - building and maintaining one integration just for Threads, on top of whatever you're already maintaining for everywhere else you post. One developer app here, one token refresh cycle there, one API detail to remember for each one, all not hard individually, but it quickly adds up when you're actively posting to more than one or two platforms.

WoopSocial Is Grok's Threads Connector

One connection covers Threads, plus Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest, all through the same setup, no separate developer app or credential to track per platform.

Write once, adapt per platform: If you already have Grok create short-form posts, the same copy can go directly to Threads, with a modified version sent to LinkedIn or other destinations in the same request, each with its own copy. You're not rewriting the same concept five times in five different tabs.

Threads and Instagram together: both run through Meta and reach similar audiences, so a single post can be sent in both a Threads post and an Instagram caption simultaneously, with the text adapted for each platform rather than copying and pasting between the two.

Scheduling is native. You can decide to publish now, schedule for later, or save as a draft, so a week of Threads posts can be queued in one sitting rather than posted one at a time as each morning arrives. Your Grok agent never holds your Threads credentials. It only holds your WoopSocial API key - WoopSocial takes care of the actual platform access on its own side.

Connect Grok to Threads in 3 Steps

Step 1: Get your WoopSocial API key

Free, takes just about 70 seconds. Connect your Threads account inside the WoopSocial dashboard while you're there.

Step 2: Add WoopSocial in Grok

Go to grok.com/connectors, New Connector, then Custom. Name it WoopSocial, enter the server URL https://api.woopsocial.com/mcp, and complete the authorization prompt Grok shows you.

Step 3: Tell Grok to post

"Write three takes on this news for Threads and schedule one each morning this week."

That's the whole ask, three variations, three scheduled slots, done in one message instead of three separate posting sessions. If you're using Grok Bot instead, the path is slightly different - Settings, Plugins, add a custom connector, with the server URL and an authorization header carrying your WoopSocial API key.

Threads, in Plain Language

Once it's connected, this is genuinely how you'll talk to it:

  • "Post this to Threads now"
  • "Schedule this Threads post for 8am tomorrow"
  • "Post this to Threads, and a longer version to LinkedIn"
  • "Draft it, I'll check it first"

Each of those maps to something the connector actually does, contentOverride for the reworded LinkedIn version, DRAFT status for the hold-and-review request. Threads currently only allows a single post per item rather than a connected chain, so each of these is a single post rather than a thread of multiple posts together.

Why WoopSocial

The same connector also gives Grok Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Bluesky, set up once, not per platform.

Pricing is flat and predictable: free to start, $19/month for Pro, scaling to $49 for Business and $799 for Max, with API and MCP access included on every tier, free included. WoopSocial maintains every integration, so keeping up with platform changes across all eight is its problem to track, not yours.

Grok Already Writes the Post. Now It Can Reach Threads.

FAQ

Can Grok post to Threads?

Not by default. None of Grok's connectors include any Meta platform. The only social connector allowed is X Ads. Adding WoopSocial as a custom connector is what closes the gap.

Can Grok schedule Threads posts?

Yes. WoopSocial schedules natively, publish now, schedule for later, or save as a draft, so Grok can queue Threads content instead of only posting in the moment.

Does Grok need my Threads or Instagram password?

No. Grok only holds a connection to your WoopSocial API key. WoopSocial handles your Threads access through your linked Instagram account on its own end.

Can Grok post a multi-part Threads chain?

Not yet via this connector, each post is just a single item. No threading support yet, so for now assume each request is a single Threads post, not a connected series.
