LinkedIn MCP Server: Post and Schedule to Profiles and Company Pages from Your AI Agent
WoopSocial’s LinkedIn MCP server lets an AI agent such as Claude or ChatGPT publish and schedule posts to your personal LinkedIn profile and to company Pages you manage. It uses LinkedIn’s official API once you give it OAuth access, no scraping, and no developer app needed.

What is a LinkedIn MCP server?
A LinkedIn MCP server is a tool server that allows an AI agent to work with LinkedIn through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI assistants use to call outside tools. The agent requests, the server acts on LinkedIn, and the result comes back into the chat. LinkedIn MCP servers come in two kinds - 1) readers and scrapers, which pull profiles, jobs and inbox data, and 2) publishers, which create posts. WoopSocial is a publisher. It creates the post through LinkedIn’s API on your behalf, so what reaches LinkedIn is a normal post from your own profile or Page. This means nothing is read or collected along the way.
Does LinkedIn have an official MCP server?
No (as of October 2026). This makes a difference before installing anything, as the server you select determines whether your agent communicates with LinkedIn through an approved API you authorize, or through a session that acts like a person at a keyboard.
This means community servers are most of what you’d find online for LinkedIn MCPs. Community servers are either scrapers or readers and these types of servers can put your account at risk due to LinkedIn’s terms. WoopSocial posts through LinkedIn’s official API, after you authorize it with OAuth.
| Official | Typical community/GitHub servers | WoopSocial | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official MCP | None | n/a | Yes |
| Publishes posts | n/a | Most only read or scrape; a few post through your own developer app | Yes |
| Method | n/a | Often a browser session or cookie (account risk) | Official API + OAuth |
| Company Pages | n/a | Requires your own Community Management API approval | Included |
| Scheduling | n/a | No (LinkedIn’s API has none) | Yes |
| Analytics | n/a | Varies | Company Pages only |
If you need to read profiles or search people, a data server is the right tool. It just isn’t a publishing tool. Check LinkedIn’s terms before using one.
What your AI agent can do with LinkedIn
Once connected, your agent can do nine things on LinkedIn. You can also combine multiple in one prompt.
| What you ask | What happens |
|---|---|
| Post to your profile | Publishes a text, image or video post to your personal profile (LINKEDIN). |
| Post to a company Page | Publishes to a Page you administer - LINKEDIN_PAGES |
| Add a link preview | A link in the request shows as a preview card |
| Post multiple images or a video | Publishes a multi-image post or a video post. |
| Schedule for a time and time zone | Queues the post with SCHEDULE_FOR_LATER, always converted to UTC |
| Save as a draft | Holds the post in WoopSocial for you to review. |
| Cross-post a LinkedIn and an X version | Sends separate text to each platform with contentOverride |
| Check delivery status | Reports whether each post was published or failed |
| Read Page post analytics | Returns impressions, clicks and engagement rate for company Page posts. |
You also need an account on LinkedIn to connect the LinkedIn MCP. This can be a personal profile but you can also post to any company page that is attached to your personal profile as long as you are an admin of that page.
How to connect a LinkedIn MCP server to your agent (3 steps)
The setup takes three steps and no code.
- Get your MCP URL. Create a free WoopSocial account (takes just ~70 seconds) and open the API access page. Use the OAuth URL, https://api.woopsocial.com/mcp, for clients that support sign-in, or the API-key version for clients that don’t. The key sits inside that URL, so treat the whole URL like a password. If you use Claude, you can use the official WoopSocial Claude MCP which offers 1 click login.
- Connect your LinkedIn account. In WoopSocial, authorize LinkedIn with OAuth. You approve access on LinkedIn’s own sign-in page, so your agent never sees your password. Any personal profile works. For a company Page, you must be an admin of that Page.
- Add WoopSocial to your agent. In Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or another MCP client, add WoopSocial as a remote MCP server and authorize it. Then ask something like: “List my social accounts in WoopSocial.” If your LinkedIn accounts come back, you’re ready to post. Our MCP setup guide covers everything.
Example conversation
This is an example session. The prompt is: “Turn this blog post into a LinkedIn company Page post with the link, and schedule it for Tuesday 9:00 Amsterdam time.”
Tool chain: social_accounts_list → posts_validate → posts_create, with LINKEDIN_PAGES, the link, SCHEDULE_FOR_LATER and a time of 08:00 UTC.
LinkedIn MCP prompts to try
Copy any of these into your agent, and swap in your own content. It is worth noting that a good prompt names the specific platform, the content, the date and time, and a time zone.
- “Write three LinkedIn post options from this changelog and save them as drafts on my profile.”
- “Post this carousel of 6 product photos to our company Page tomorrow at 10:00 CET.”
- “Schedule this video to my profile for Thursday 8:30 New York time.”
- “Cross-post this announcement: a long version to LinkedIn, a short one to X.”
- “Which of last month’s company Page posts had the highest engagement rate?”
- “Cancel the LinkedIn post scheduled for Friday.”
LinkedIn requirements and limits
These limits come from LinkedIn, not from WoopSocial. They come from its Posts API documentation (as of October 2026).
- Post text: up to 3,000 characters.
- Multi-image posts: 2 to 20 images.
- Video: 3 seconds to 30 minutes.
- Daily limit: LinkedIn publishes no fixed daily post cap.
- Company Pages: you need an admin role on the Page.

WoopSocial vs the LinkedIn API directly
Here’s what you’re dealing with when you use WoopSocial or LinkedIn’s API directly:
| LinkedIn API direct | WoopSocial |
|---|---|
| No scheduling endpoint | SCHEDULE_FOR_LATER and drafts |
| Company Pages need Community Management API approval: a registered legal entity, Page super-admin verification and a screencast review for Standard tier | Already approved. Connect a Page as an admin |
| Development tier limited to 500 calls a day | No per-day call cap |
| Tokens that expire after 60 days | Tokens refreshed for you |
| A LinkedIn-Version header on every call, with versions sunset about yearly | WoopSocial tracks the versions |
What it doesn’t do
WoopSocial is mainly a publishing server, so some LinkedIn features are not in its jurisdiction:
- Document or PDF carousels
- Polls
- @mentions and tagging
- Articles and newsletters
- Comments, replies and DMs
- Analytics on personal profiles
- Profile, people or job scraping
