Post Engagement
In a social media context, post engagement refers to the ways in which users interact with a piece of content. This can cover actions as simple as giving a post a thumbs up or heart or as complex as leaving a multi-paragraph comment that sparks an ongoing back-and-forth discussion between the commenter and various other users. A post can also be engaged with in a less direct but still telling manner that might indicate a viewer is seriously considering the post's content or even debating it in their mind.
For example, someone might click on a link within a post rather than just reading the post in context. The user might even go on to share the post with another audience, which is also a form of post engagement. When users share a post, that's 'further down the funnel' in terms of engagement.
It also shows that the user found the content valuable enough to pass it on rather than just keep it to themselves. Post engagement can also happen in a more private manner. A user might send a direct message containing a screenshot of the post to a friend, and in social media these days, that's also post engagement.
