Network growth in social media means increasing the number of connections, followers, or subscribers a person or brand has on one or more platforms. The idea is to expand the audience that sees a person's or brand's posts and to increase the reach, engagement, and overall visibility of that person or brand online. Visibility, reach, and audience are key concepts for a serious player in the social media game.

You want as many people as possible to see what you are doing. But what will really make people, and not just numbers, pay attention? The first move is to increase the quantity and quality of your content.

You should post more often—at least three times a week and preferably every day. Posts should be longer, richer, and more varied than before. Use more visuals, more statistics, and more storytelling.

Follow these golden rules, and you will be golden yourself; you will have all the 'money' (i. e. , attention) you could possibly want.

The game doesn’t work like that, of course. Even what I just laid out is far less mechanical and mundane than it sounds. When we get to brands, we will see that they can pay for attention, which raises some interesting ethical and practical questions.
