Marketing Campaign
A campaign, in the context of social media, is a momentary and strategic effort to promote a clear message, product, service, or idea on social media platforms. When we talk about a social media marketing campaign, it usually is for much of the same stuff. Yet it has to do with how we can engage potential customers through basic user interactions and through paid advertising at the same time.
If we're serious about this as a company, a campaign can and should have its own life. It can and should be planned too, not to death but with enough time and thought so that everyone on the marketing team knows what will happen when and where and with what. This plan should also give each platform its due and utilize a kind of platform-specific strategy, if that's what it takes.
And for this, a balance should be struck between the audience and some compelling piece of creative work. If the work is there, that's half the battle won. The other half has to do with what happens when the work is done—how we can interact with the audience in a direct, user-friendly way, and how, if necessary, we can shove the work out to a larger number of people via paid advertising.
