Imagery
In the context of social media, imagery means pictures. When someone is scrolling through their feed, their eyes will skim past the text. But if there's a compelling visual, even if it was just a flash of color, it would register in their brain more readily than words.
This is why visuals are so important. A posts's overall appeal, and the way that it captures attention, hinge on the picture that it comes with. And from there, the picture itself has to be of high enough quality that it can go past the brain's filters and hook someone into wanting to know more.
On top of all that, the picture has to be relatable and relevant to whatever it is that you're putting out into the ether at the moment—if it doesn't resonate, then it won't be able to build the trust that makes someone say, 'Yeah, I think I'm into this. ' Visually, it has to be gorgeous. If for no other reason, then simply because humans like pretty things.
And yet, the visuals that we conjure and then use as bait have to be processed for their implications. Because they do hold significant implications.
