A conversion in social media is the moment when a user interacts with a piece of content, an advertisement, or a profile and completes the 'desired action.' This means that social media is successfully pushing this person down a part of the marketing funnel. At Victory, we use social media to try to get people to do something that corresponds to our push down the funnel. Usually, this means that we want them to 'engage' with us in some way, and in Victory's use of social media, this is usually not something as simple as liking us (though we do want that). Usually, this also is not something as simple as clicking a link (though, again, we want that too!). Instead, Victory tries to use social media to 'get people to engage in some way that is going to push them to... really freaking close to 'signing a contact with us.''
