Click Rate, often called CTR (Click-Through Rate), in the context of social media, measures the effectiveness of content, ads, or posts to elicit a user action after being viewed on a social media platform. It serves as a crucial metric to gauge the engagement level of an audience. The sociopolitical context of language—what we can say, do, or be in a particular setting—affects the way we understand and interact with one another, and there is nothing more topical and socially impactful than the way one group in power can use language to distort, defame, or demonize another.

For instance, eugenics—the pseudo-scientific practice of improving the genetic quality of the human population—reared its ugly head early in the last century, largely in the English-speaking world, and has had a major influence on events since. On the other hand, good science in an appropriate context has no use for language eugenics. On this score, in the battle for the interpretation of facts, the language used by both sides can be equally significant and equally flawed.
